£28,401 pa (pro rata for part-time)
To develop Web-based methods to track interest in academic topics over time as part of the new Digging into Data funded project: Cascades, islands, or streams? Time, topic, and scholarly activities in humanities and social science research. This is in international project in collaboration with Indiana University Bloomington and Université du Québec à Montréal and the successful applicant will be required to attend meetings in both places.  In the nature of the post it is not expected that applicants will have prior experience of similar work but those with a PhD in an area related to Library and Information Science or Computer Science will be considered, and those with experience of scientometrics or webometrics are particularly encouraged to apply. You will have working knowledge of scholarly uses of the Web and basic statistics, and will be able to apply your existing research skills to this new area. Good communication and team working skills are essential, and a knowledge of disciplinary issues relevant to research in the social sciences or humanities would be an advantage.  This is a temporary, two-year 75% appointment.  For informal enquiries please contact Mike Thelwall, m.thelwall@wlv.ac.uk
