KTP Associate in Computational Imaging
School of Physics and Astronomy
University of Glasgow - College of Science and Engineering
Ref: 001461
Salary: The salary will be determined by the Associate, the University and Qioptiq. The amount will be appropriate to the experience and qualifications of the appointed Associate. In addition the Associate will have funding through the KTP scheme for travel and professional development.
Full time post
Applications are invited for the position of KTP Research Associate in Computational Imaging. Computational Imaging is a new and rapidly developing field in which the synergy between optical imaging and com
puter processing of images is exploited to enable new imaging
capabilities. These include imaging with extreme depth of field or field
of view. The Research Associate will research novel computational
imaging techniques for application to visible-light and infrared imaging
systems for possible development and manufacture by Qioptiq, St Asaph,
North Wales. Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent experience in
optics or imaging and have experience of numerical techniques for
optical design and image recovery. Experience of experimental optics is
also required.
The position will be held within the Imaging Concepts Group within the School of Physics and Astronomy at Glasgow University. The ICG conduct theoretical and experimental research into imaging science and techniques and their application at wavelengths from the visible to mm-wave. Research is conducted in collaboration with a range of UK and international academic groups and there is strong integration with industry. Further details can be found at
