We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Fellow (Grade 7) to be part of a newly developing research team delivering a NIHR-funded programme of research concerned with evaluating service delivery interventions as they are rolled out in the NHS. The post holder will work independently as a researcher supporting qualitative research activities relating to a large evaluation project on service redesign running across several NHS 'economies' including Primary Care, Acute and Foundation Trusts. Working in a multi-disciplinary team the post-holder will be coding and analysing qualitative data. This project is one of nine that comprise the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaborations For Leadership In Applied Health Research And Care (CLARHC) for Birmingham and Black Country
The successful candidate will have a good first degree in a health-related field e.g. medical sciences, sociology or psychology (a PhD or equivalent experience would be an advantage), an understanding of the principles of qualitative research and experience of collecting and analysing qualitative data, such as interviews, focus groups or participant-observation, and using thematic, narrative, discourse or framework analysis and use of qualitative analysis software programmes.
The post holder will be based in the Department of Public Health Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Health and Population Sciences, and will also contribute to the research methods, dissemination of research findings and applications for further funding.
